Christian Krohg (1852-1925) was a Norwegian naturalist, painter, illustrator, writer and journalist. He came from an influential family. His father, Georg Anton Krohg, was a lawyer and his grandfather was a cabinet minister. Following the example of his father, Christian studied law at the University of Oslo and arts at the University in Baden.
